HAZARD ZET FORWARD

Strategy

Raise your expectations of yourself & do very hard things.

Most things that are worthwhile are difficult. Stop looking at yourself as having a fixed set of skills that cannot improve. Have faith in your determination and accept that your solution will be arduous. You need to use your mind to unlock your potential, and you need to use your mind to push yourself far beyond what you have expected of yourself.

Dr. Marty Seligman's interview on the Happiness Lab podcast is one of the most important resources on our entire site. It encourages people to work on becoming someone who is more optimistic. He simply describes an optimistic person who feels that they have a higher level of self-efficacy in life. His research shows that people who are normally defeated by challenges in life, can slowly change to becoming more effective - and eventually become more content with their lives.
